Our Journey of Growth and Expansion

At season closing of 2010 Roger's Marina was greeted by third generation owners, Yves Struthers and wife Nancy Struthers along with their two sons (and possible fourth generation operators) Nicholas and Andre.

They had challenges to face and a vision to guide them. They introduced new boat lines, became a Mercury Marine dealership, started a fiberglass repair and detailing shop, started an upholstery and custom canvas shop, and purchased a new, well needed forklift and hydraulic trailer.

In 2018, we made a bold decision to expand our marina to better serve our growing customer base. With much-needed repairs and an increasingly busy shop, we created a year-round facility designed to showcase our extensive boat line. This expansion includes a state-of-the-art indoor showroom, providing customers with an up-close look at our boats, no matter the season.

To complement our sales, our chandlery offers a full range of essential boating supplies, including high-quality UV protection clothing to ensure you're covered on every adventure.

Our mechanical shop features 4 service bays and a fully stocked parts room, ensuring we have everything necessary to keep your vessel in top condition.

On the second floor, you'll find our newly upgraded upholstery and canvas shop. With the addition of a cutter table and advanced 3D design capabilities, we’re now able to provide even more precise and personalized craftsmanship for your boat's needs.

We are proud of how far we’ve come and excited about the future. Our expanded facility allows us to continue delivering exceptional service and products to all our customers, year-round.

Marina in 1974
Our History

In 1954, Roger Allaire and his wife Beatrice Beaudoin purchased the land where the marina is today from his father in-law Arthur to raise their 3 children Monique, Lise and Ted. They started a small bait shop. Live worms and minnows; in what was then the family living room. "Roger's Live Bait" continued to grow. Eventually a shop was built at the base of the first canal. Later docks were put in place which is when it became known as "Roger's Marina".

October 15th, 1974, Roger's Marina saw a change of hands when daughter Lise and husband René Struthers took over the reins. Second Generation Lise and Rene with baby Mark and Yves on the way started on their quest by expanding the docks, enlarging the store to the front of the bay, and adding a mechanics shop and boat houses.

Lise worked in the store, took care of the clients and the bookkeeping. When the boys got older Rene put them to work and taught them the business hoping that one would one day continue in his footsteps. In 1980 they had their 3rd child Adele.

After 36 years in the marina business, René & Lise succeeded in their goals and expectations and were ready to move on to retirement.
